pearshaped (screenshot)- Elena Knox & Anand Kumar, videopoem, DVD, 2005

ANODYNE
poem for pearshaped (dvd)

you flow
with the tearshape
so heavy at the
bottom
that the top
is pulled away from space
it is endless
this fall
there is no earth

2
this couch colonised
by crispy crumbly biscuits
mix of unbearable
itches I'm
white noise
I'm watching
dark TV
and who
am I talking to

to wake up
clean and
wear your fluffy
towel the rest
of your days
reminding you
you washed it all off
revealing
soft sexy
skin

if it doesn't all
fall out it'll
make for good
laughs in the pub later
a girl
inside-out on the bus
well I am
brassy broken
no photographs
please

5
there's a heat in sleep
stokes stamina
dreams refill
the stuff you'll spill
next day on
hard floors in
harsh light
and you can't
wait
for night

a submarine gulp
fitful friendship
bubbles from deep
wonder if
they've ever seen
explosions this mean
I'm a silver
screen to them but
I'm lucky
lucky
so lucky
